- Reverting to your "classic" template after you've labelled your posts
- Writing a hand-coded sidebar list of search strings for your labels
As we suspected, it seems that the only part of the labels system that is truly layouts-dependent is the default sidebar menu... and Michael has the scoop on how to build a perfectly serviceable substitute. Once again, let's see what happens when the HTML editor goes live....

"Whenever you need to edit the post, do it in the Layouts mode. Label for that particular post will be lost if you edit it in the Classic Template mode".
Don't know whether this applies to new posts also.
