This has turned into something of a sports blog recently, now that my posting is less regular and there's so much World Cuppage occuring. I had a Women's Soccer day off yesterday, what with "Bend it Like Beckham" on DVD (which is excellent) and this:-
From ESPN - "The United States defeated longtime rival Norway 1-0 on Wednesday to advance to the Women's World Cup semifinals.
Abby Wambach caused problems for Norway's defense all game long and her 24th-minute header off a free kick from Cat Reddick turned out to be the match-winner.
The U.S. had two golden chances to add to its lead in the second half, including a penalty kick in the 67th minute, but Norwegian keeper Bente Nordby came up big to keep her team in the game.
Next up for the U.S. is a final four showdown against either Germany or Russia on Sunday."
