About Damn Time
Engadget: "We’re not sure if this is the first law of its kind in the US (anyone know whether it is?), but we have a feeling it won’t be the last: apparently Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich signed off on a legislation Tuesday making it illegal to have TVs and/or media players installed in the frontal areas of cars..."

Makes good sense to me. Watch the road!!

I think it is bogus that you cannot have a video system in your car. There are a lot of things that take your eyes off of the road the exactly same as a video screen. Billboards, fancy cars, a cute girl bending over, waving at a friend passing by. I could go on and on. Sure, there are some people who would keep their eyes on the screen. Those are the ones who should not have one. I have a video system in the front of my car and my PASSENGERS watch movies on it when we go on roadtrips. It is possible to drive and car and not look at the friggin screen! We went on a five hour roadtrip and there and back we had no accidents. Didn't break one damn law. Now tell me why I should not have a screen in my car! Same goes for neon underbody kits and window tint. Who is it hurting? I'll tell you what. If you are distracted by my neon lights you should get a ticket because YOUR eyes were not on the road paying attention! Be responsible for you own stupidity. I do not agree with neon lights that are flashing or moving like a cop. That is wrong. Solid lights however are fine. I think it is time that we stand up to this bullshit and shut all these stupid ass laws down!
