"SOUTHERN ILLINOIS -- With Republican U.S. Senate candidate Jack Ryan pulling out of the race, speculation turns to who might replace him.

Ryan dropped out four days after divorce records he fought to keep sealed were opened Monday. They included allegations by his former wife that Ryan asked her to have sex with him in front of others on two different occasions at racy clubs in New York and Paris.

As embarrassing as those claims were, hurting Ryan more was outrage by Illinois Republic Party leadership who contend the candidate misled and lied to them when saying there was nothing in the records that would damage him."
